Please read this review carefully before you book a holiday here!

This cottage looks like a great place to have a weekend away but in reality the truth simply is that it does not match up to any expectations and is certainly quite different to how they describe it to be on the web sites.
For starters they advertise a gypsy caravan... this is not actually there.

2nd they advertise the pool and house as being cleaned once a week... the house was filled with cob webs, the place smelled of dogs and the swimming pool floor was black with dirt, if you have children you simply wouldn't let them swim in it, also there was dogs mess all over the garden.

3rd they advertise a 4 acre garden with a trampoline and tree house... the tree house id a full blown death trap consisting of scrap metal strewn about the area, steps hanging off and a fence (designed to stop you falling out of the tree house) that is half fallen down with the other half being more loose than a prostitutes pants.

4th they do not tell you that they don't let you leave any rubbish there (even if it’s all placed in black bags and put in the one bin provided) this will result in the owner taking £50 out of your deposit, without telling you in advance! daylight robbery in my opinion.

5th they do not provide you with a damage form to fill out. you may be thinking why does this matter... well let me tell you that it does. on our last day there we had fully cleaned the house up (spick and span) no damage to anything was caused in any way what so ever. The owner came over to meet us and fully check the house whilst all 12 of us were present and able to witness it, she was happy and gave us the all clear making a promise to give us the £300 deposit back the next day... this was not what happened! We heard nothing from her for a couple of weeks and it was only after we contacted her again to find out what was happening that she informed us that "we had broken her back door lock" and sent us an invoice for £500 to repair it (this is no joke!). she refused to give us back any deposit and insisted that we must have broken the lock. we truly did not, we couldn't even lock the door as we had 2 people staying out in the pool house who needed constant access to the house facilities. Also we could not leave the grounds of the house as we were flooded in for 3 days so we never needed to lock the door. after many conversations with the owner she even slipped up and said she had problems with the door in the past (is it just me or is that admitting liability??), but still she kept all our money... so with no proof, admitting it was already broken and lying in front of 12 of us really does show what this owner is like.

6th they neglect to mention that the pool house toilet leaks all over the floor in the bathroom when it is flushed, it ruined a bag of clothing that i had placed under the table to keep out of the way and the entire pool house smelled of urine. Watch out if you are the next person to stay there as they may charge you for this damage as they charged us for the door.

also as i mentioned previously in this message, if you get any rain there then the lane floods very deeply cutting off all access to anything you will be stuck in grounds of the house with nothing to do and no-where to go.

truly you really should consider staying elsewhere.

thanks for taking the time to read this review.
